COD: Modern Warfare 2 camo selection lighting too bright after latest update

Developed by Infinity Ward, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a first-person shooter that was recently released on October 28, 2022. It serves as the nineteenth installment in the overall Call of Duty series.

It now features a new version of the IW engine and multiplayer mode. It also adds support for cross-platform multiplayer and features a free-to-play battle royale mode named Warzone 2.0.

While the gameplay experience is quite exciting and enjoyable, players are facing an issue with the game’s camo selection screen.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple users are said to be facing an issue where the lighting appears too bright in the camo selection screen.

The issue is especially bad with golden camos. The colors in the camo selection screen appear washed out due to the excessive brightness.

Players are annoyed by this lighting glitch as it makes it harder for them to properly see the camo without going back to the attachment screen.

Several thought they had somehow messed up their game’s brightness settings resulting in this issue, but that was not the case.

At the moment, this looks more like a graphical bug than an intentional change. The problem appears to affect both PC and console players.

All the camos are bugged in the gunsmith camo selection. They all appear extremely bright and shiny to the point you can’t really even see the camo properly or gun. Once you back into the attachments menu camos appear normal again on the weapon.

Apparently, the glitch is said to have occurred only after the recent Season 01 Reloaded update.

No official acknowledgment or workaround

Unfortunately, the developers have not yet officially acknowledged the issue with the camo lighting during weapon selection.

Furthermore, it appears that there is no feasible workaround that could assist in resolving the current problem. Players are unhappy since the issue seems to spoil their overall experience.

That being said, we will keep an eye on the lighting issue during camo selection in COD Modern Warfare 2 and update this story as new information becomes available.
