Chromecast with Google TV came out last year with the Android TV operating system which can be navigated via a Bluetooth remote.
Now, it seems that the latest Chromecast variant is getting a new update with a bunch of improvements.
As per recent reports, the update version QTS1.210311.005 weighs 166 MB in size and offers the April 2021 security patch.
It also brings along the Advanced Video Control setting for color formats, refresh rate/resolution, and granular HDR formats.
There are improvements for the HDMI hotplug and 5GHz and Mesh WiFi networks making Chromecast with Google TV more stable.
Moreover, HDMI CEC can be configured in the settings to switch on or off just the television.
Apart from that, the Bluetooth stuttering in some apps has been reduced. All these improvements indicate that this is a big update for the said Chromecast variant.
So, if you have not yet updated your Chromecast with Google TV, do so now as the said update has a lot to offer.
It must be noted that the said variant is the very first device in the Chromecast lineup with an on-screen user interface.
It supports many HDR formats like HDR10+, HDR10, and Dolby Vision with up to 4K resolution video output.
Furthermore, there is support for audio formats like Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Digital.
Hopefully, Google adds support for exFAT and NTFS file systems to the latest Chromecast variant in the future.
That said, we will be back with more details as and when new information becomes available so stay tuned.
