We all know the open-source nature of Android gives the budding developers to churn out additional custom ROMs and modded apps that can enhance the productivity of any Android phone.
There is no shortage of custom ROMs available in the Android ecosystem. For instance, we have the LineageOS, Pixel Experience, Resurrection Remix, among the more popular ones.
Another name on the list is the CarbonROM. Though it might not be that popular, it has been around for some time now, and as per a recent official blog post from CarbonROM developers, the latest version of the CarbonROM 8.0 based on Android 10, has been released for a total of 13 devices.
The CarbonROM focuses on the stability and is primarily meant to provide additional versatility and customization of Android. The latest version, i.e. the CarbonROM 8.0 or CR-8.0 has been codenamed PAX, after the Latin word for Peace.
The 13 devices that have got the support of the CR-8.0 include,
Xiaomi MI PAD 4 and 4 PLUS (clover), OnePlus 6 (enchilada), OnePlus 6T (fajita), OnePlus 7 Pro (guacamole), Xiaomi MI A2 (jasmine_sprout), Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 (lavender), Google Nexus 4 (mako), Essential Phone (mata), Xiaomi Redmi 7 (onclite), Xiaomi Redmi K30/Poco X2 (phoenix), Nexus 6 (shamu), Xiaomi Mi 6X (Wayne), Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 (whyred)
Talking about the features that this new CarbonROM 8.0 brings, for starters it brings the latest April security patch for all the above-mentioned devices.
Moreover, this new version also brings back the system-wide custom fonts from the previous versions, and for those who are seeking more customization can always create their very own custom font, by heading over to fonts.carbonrom.org.
There is a new setup wizard included with the CR-8.0 along with custom battery styles, that adds some features from Android 9.
