However, several users have been facing some issues with the camera and flashlight functionality after the latest iOS update.

As per recent reports, the camera and flashlight are not working on some iPhone models after the iOS 14.5 update.

Users are reporting that the Camera app opens but shows a blank screen whereas the flashlight does not switch on at all.

Also, it seems that the said issue is affecting both, front as well as back, cameras even with third-party apps.

Apple has not acknowledged the issue on a wider scale yet but users are being asked to get in touch with Apple Support individually.

Moreover, users are saying that Apple Support will be charging them to repair the camera and flashlight.

Just a quick summary of my day. I upgraded to iOS 14.5 this morning, my camera stop working, a genius in blue shirt told me I have to pay USD $590 to get my camera back. Sounds familiar?

While this might indicate that the issue could be related to hardware, it only started occurring after the iOS 14.5 update.

Some users have also figured out that downgrading iOS to version 14.4 (14.4.2 to be specific) restores the camera and flashlight functionality.

This clearly suggests that the camera and flashlight not working issue might be related to software only.

However, this is still based on speculation as there have been no official announcements on the matter so far.

That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide more details once new information becomes available.

In the meantime, if you are facing the said issue on your iPhone after the iOS 14.5 update, check out this guide to downgrade to iOS 14.4.2 as it appears to be the only solution for the time being.
