Bug alert: T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro April security update messes up icon alignment

Well, if you own a T-Mobile variant of the OnePlus 7 Pro and have received a new April 2020 security update, as surprising as it might sound, but you should avoid updating your phone with this update.

The reason why we are saying is that a recent T-Mobile update for the OnePlus 7 Pro, which included the April security patch, has also brought in a bug that has reportedly messed up the icon alignment.

For those who are unaware, the US carrier network T-Mobile seeded a new 270 MB update with version number 10.0.4.GM31CB which along with the April patch also brought some general bug fixes and improvements.

Like a normal smartphone user, those who have received the update went ahead and installed the update unaware of the fact that, instead of fixing the random issues present in the OnePlus 7 Pro, this update introduced a new bug.

After this update, users are reporting that the icons are misaligned and some of the icons are cut off from the top. Check out the images below to understand more clearly what we are talking about:

Moreover, going by the comments on the actual post, it seems like most of the users have been affected by this issue on their OnePlus 7 Pro units after updating with this T-Mobile update version 10.0.4.GM31CB.

Can confirm misalignment but not the cut off

Might be OnePlus’ fault. My OnePlus7Pro has misaligned icons too and it’s bought from them directly.

Since the carrier version updates like this one for the T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro, are pushed directly by the carriers themselves, one can only blame T-Mobile here for this mess up.
