Apple doesn’t want their users to dig deep into the filesystem that they ships the devices with many restrictions. Apparently, iPhones offer limited level of customization. And, that’s a prominent area where Android outplays iOS by a significant margin.
We need to admit the fact that even some Android manufacturers impose constraints on their phones to never drop the control. Take Huawei for example. The Chinese vendor banned bootloader unlocking in May last year.
Most of the Android devices let you achieve an advanced customisation level by rooting them. On the other hand, a similar process (jailbreaking) helps you eliminate the regulations from the manufacturer on iOS.
Jailbreaking brings you access to many tweaks to have features that a regular handset doesn’t possess. We have already reported iPhone X-like gestures, Deep Fusion and Night mode tweaks that may come out pretty soon to iOS 13.
A few days ago, a Redditor has requested an automatic iOS 13 Dark Mode tweak on the platform. In case you are naive, dark mode is a colour scheme that uses light-coloured text, icons, and graphical user interface elements on a dark background (Wikipedia).
[Request] Automatic dark mode depending on ambient light (iOS 13)
This is a tweak I hope will exist one day for the upcoming iOS 13 jailbreak.
You can already set the iOS 13 dark mode to automatically activate on sunset. But I think it would be even better if it activated anytime the ambient light is lower than a certain threshold. Which means that if I walk in the middle of the day into a dark room, dark mode should activate. In the same way, if I walk in the middle of the night into a bright room, dark mode should switch off. The only setting this tweak probably needs is the threshold of ambient light by which it should toggle. The rest is straight forward.
Is there anyone else who thinks this would be neat? I’d definitely be willing to pay for this.

Guess what? Today, such a toggle has gone live. Bearing the name DarkSwitch, it will automatically enable/disable Dark Mode with the screen brightness or ambient lighting. You can get the tweak from the developer’s Github repo by adding the source to Cydia or Zebra.
Do you think it will drain your battery quickly? The originator of this tweak has confirmed that the battery consumption will be normal as it just uses the information provided by the system without checking anything in the background.
