Bose claims that their QuietComfort Earbuds II are the next generation of wireless listening and have the world’s best noise cancellation.

And looking at the reviews from the critics and users, it looks like Bose has lived up to its claims.

The company has recently released a firmware update for the QC2 buds, which introduced bug fixes for known issues, Bluetooth connection and stability improvements, and much more.

The patch also added the capability of independent single-bud use, with the help of which one can use each bud individually for making calls or listening to music. Initially, one could only use the right bud independently.

However, some are unhappy as after the update, they are unable to use their Bose QC2 earbuds properly.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), some Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II users are experiencing multiple issues after the recent patch where the audio is out of sync, cutting out, or one bud keeps disconnecting.

One of those affected says that after the update, they were left with no ANC (active noise cancellation) in their left bud.

Although hard resetting the QC2 buds helped resolve the ANC issue, but after doing so they got stuck on another problem: the audio is out of sync between the buds.

Another user on Reddit alleges that only the left earbud works after updating the firmware. Even though they have tried resetting their buds, it has had no effect.

Once in a while, these earbuds stop working. Either one or both buds stop connecting to any paired device. I have seen several threads full of people with these issues. I am trying to understand if Bose has launched broken $300 earbuds or if mine (and many other’s) are defective.

Some have even tried doing a full factory reset, unpairing and re-pairing their buds, and getting the faulty units replaced multiple times, but still, audio is still cutting out on their QuietComfort Earbuds II.

These issues have been persistent for the past few days, and Bose is yet to resolve them. Users are now requesting that the company fix the bugs as soon as possible.
