After a month-long wait, the team 7 plus Kawaki’s attempt to rescue the Seventh Hokage is finally about to conclude. Following a long-fought battle with Boro, Sarada was finally able to remove his core using her Chidori in Boruto chapter 43.
The main highlight of this chapter, however, is when Boruto activated his Karma unconsciously. This time, it gave him enormous power and strength with the help of the nine-tails chakra. The only downside is that he activated it unconsciously and it seemed like his body was under the control of someone else.
Boruto and Kawaki frees Naruto from the coffin
After Sarada successfully removed and destroyed Boro’s core, the team decided to leave him alone and focus on saving Naruto. Kawaki says that because the core was removed, the scientific ninja tool in Boro’s body has run wild. Also, even if they wanted to fight, they are now worn out.
To release Naruto from the coffin, Kawaki thought of creating a gate with his and Boruto’s karma. Since they have been successful in infiltrating the dimension where Jigen kept Naruto, Kawaki thought it would also be possible for them to penetrate the coffin using the same principle.
He was right. After they opened a portal, Naruto was released from the coffin. However, he was unconscious. While Boruto tries to wake him up, they were once again attacked.
Boro in berserk mode
The removal of the core of the scientific tool in Boro’s body made the tool unstable. This caused Boro’s body to transform giving him huge tentacles. Kawaki tried to ward him off using his karma and was able to cut off Boro’s right arm.
He was then sent flying with one swing from Boro. Sarada was then captured by Boro with his other hand. Boruto tried to save her but got himself pinched in the process. With Boruto down, Boro throws a finishing attack.
To everyone’s surprise, Boruto had escaped what seemed to be sure death. This is where things get interesting. Boruto activated his karma to an unprecedented level.
Boruto chapter 43 highlight
Boruto unconsciously activated karma. To say it bluntly, Momoshiki took over Boruto’s body and consciousness. Momoshiki put the karma on Boruto at the conclusion of their battle marking him as his next vessel. He probably shared Jigen’s impression of Boruto that he will be the perfect Otsutsuki.
Going back to Boruto chapter 43. While in karma mode, Boruto easily overpowered Boro physically. However, since Boruto had been fighting for some time, his chakra was almost depleted. He then took some of the nine-tails chakra residing in Naruto’s body.
He continued to attack Boro with few more blows and eventually finished the job with a giant ransegan. After this, Boruto falls having deactivated the karma. Apparently, he was not aware of everything that happened.
This mysterious phenomenon is yet to be understood. Will Momoshiki be able to ultimately take over Boruto’s body? We certainly hope not. As we have seen in the first chapter of the manga, Boruto had full control of the power of karma. However, it is now clear that a great struggle is about to befall Boruto.
The chapter ends with Kashin Koji preparing to attack Jigen. Let us hope that the initial result of this attack will be revealed in the next chapter. Boruto chapter 44 will be officially released on March 20, 2020, in the Weekly Shonen Jump.
