Microsoft recently introduced the new Bing Chat with different chat modes that can turn the AI bot into a personal assistant, a friend, and much more.
The company has also made its chatbot available in preview on the Bing, Edge, and Skype apps for iOS and Android.
However, some users are unable to use the new bot due to some bugs and issues.
Bing chat always shows ‘Something went wrong’ error
Some Bing chat users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) are experiencing an issue where they are unable to communicate with the bot. It is alleged that whenever one tries to do so, they get ‘Something went wrong’ error message.
For some, the problem only occurs on the website while for others it occurs both on the website and the app. The issue has been persistent for quite some time and affects users to this date.
A Redditor complains that even though they are able to access Bing’s AI bot with the help of the Android application, for some strange reasons, they are unable to do so on the Edge browser on their desktop machine.
Anyone still having issue getting the chat to work? Been fine previously, but since yesterday whenever I type anything it just comes up ‘Something went wrong – Refresh’. Doesn’t matter if I click on Refresh, wait or reload the browser nothing changes. In the Discover section on the right, the chat tab, just has ‘Stop Responding’ underneath what I type and again nothing else appears.

Trying to get a sense of what’s going on here. I had access very early last week, but haven’t had access since the recent maintenance. I instantly get “Something went wrong”. Can’t even use the Feedback button.

Users are frustrated as this annoying problem makes it completely impossible for them to use the tool.
Some have even tried clearing the cache and app data, rebooting their devices, and uninstalling and reinstalling the app but with no success.
It is worth mentioning that a section of users believes that this happens whenever Bing releases an update.
On the other hand, others assume that this could be due to a ban put up by Microsoft on those who have been abusing their new AI bot.
