New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…
Original story (published on May 28, 2021) follows:
Beat Saber is a popular VR (virtual reality) rhythm game which came out in 2019 on platforms like Steam and Oculus Quest. It recently got an update dubbed “Interscope Mixtape” which features 7 new music tracks.
However, players are facing several issues after the Beat Saber Interscope Mixtape update where they are getting a black screen or the game is taking forever to load.
Also, reports outline that players are facing issues related to the game crashing or freezing between songs.
User reports suggest that those playing Beat Saber on Steam and the Oculus Quest, Quest 2 or Rift are the most affected.
It seems that downgrading Beat Saber to version 1.15 or 1.14 appears to solving the Black Screen and other issues for some.
Downgraded back to 1.15. took 15 mins. Works great. Would recommend.

So, those who are facing the said problems after the latest update can try downgrading via Beat Saber legacy.
Alternatively, Steam users can downgrade Beat Saber to version 1.15 or 1.14 through the official method.
It is unclear what the exact cause of the said issues is but they started coming to light only after the latest update.
Moreover, the game developer, Beat Games, has not made any comments on the matter so far.
This is why affected players have started looking for potential workarounds on their own.
