Asus launched the Asus ZenFone Max M1, Max Pro M1, Max M2, Max Pro M2 a couple of years ago to boost its budget segment.

The devices offered great value for money when it came to the hardware and specs-sheet. But turned out to be a total disaster when it came to software updates.

The company left all these devices hanging by repeatedly delaying the stable Android 10 update. All Asus ZenFone Max users received were the developer previews.

The Asus ZenFone Max users continued to wait for something that would add colors to the bland desert of their lives but Asus never really came up with Android 10-related good news.

Well, this is when all the dreams shatter so brace yourselves for the bad news.

Asus’ Russian customer support when enquired about the status of the Android 10 update responded that the company has no plans to push the major update as the support has ended for these devices.

Here’s the translated transcript of what the support meant to convey.

Being more than 2 years old, this is true that the devices are well past the typical support they get from the company.

Asus has totally cast down its users and left a terrible impression of the company which might cost them in case they ever plan to come up with a ZenFone Max series again.

This is officially the end of the saga that lasted more than a year and Asus ZenFone Max users have to learn to move on as official Android 10 is never coming.

In fact, the Asus ROG Phone III, a flagship offering, trails behind its peers when it comes to the stable Android 11 update.

Asus really has some important lessons to learn before moving ahead with a new device.

Asus users should now head towards the custom ROMs section to have the latest OS running on their devices.

Asus might have ended the support but users can still enjoy Android 11 on their devices.

The support is spotted requesting users to wait for an announcement related to the Android 10 update which now makes things more confusing.
