The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 has been in line to receive the stable Android 10 update for over 6 months. Moreover, we reported that the device may not get any updates including the update to Android 10 according to a support member in Russia.

Nevertheless, while users wait for the elusive Android 10 update for the ZenFone Max Pro M1, there are a few more pressing issues that are affecting users. One such problem is the missing VoWiFi option on the device.

As we reported at the beginning of 2020, most carriers in India rolled out the option for users to make and receive calls over WiFi. But since the ZenFone Max Pro M1 did support it, we provided a workaround to enable the function.

Further, some users were expecting the VoWiFi function to be enabled on all networks in India alongside the Android 10 update. But a moderator claimed that this will not be the case.

However, this isn’t stopping users from asking Asus about the missing VoWiFi feature on the ZenFone Max Pro M1. And when questioned about VoWiFi on the Airtel network, a moderator made an interesting comment.

I have forwarded the information to the relevant department for checking the plan of Airtel IN VoWiFi.

We will keep you updated and your consideration will be very much appreciated.

According to the moderator, the issue has now been forwarded to the ‘relevant department’. Thus, if there’s no hardware limitation, ZenFone Max Pro M1 users may just be able to use VoWiFi on the Airtel network in India.

Of course, this does not guarantee support for VoWiFi on the network. Therefore, users will have to wait for more details to emerge before getting their hopes high. So stay tuned to PiunikaWeb to know more details regarding the VoWiFi availability on the device.
