This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (from May 25) follows:
Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 owners must be among the most frustrated smartphone owners in the world. Make no mistake, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 is a great piece of hardware.
Unveiled in April 2018, it rocks a 6-inch 1080p display screen and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 allied to up to 6GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage. You also get a massive 5000mAh battery.
On matters software, there is stock Android Oreo pre-installed. The device is entitled to at least two Android OS updates and has since received Android Pie. Next in line, as you guessed, is the ZenFone Max Pro M1 Android 10 update.
The device received Android 10 beta in late January 2020. To date, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 Android 10 stable update is nowhere to be seen. Matter of fact, it doesn’t look like coming anytime soon now that the device is receiving a Pie-based May security patch.
Over four months since the beta arrived, Asus is still not confident enough to push Android 10 to the ZenFone Max Pro M1 in stable version. As of this writing, the device is receiving the May patch as version 16.2017.2005.082 and is a target for model ZB602KL.
Below is a summary of the changes included in the new update:
【Release Note】
1. Updated Android security patch
2. Updated APN list
