Asus ZenFone Max M1 owners are hoping the next OTA update they receive will bring the stable Android 10 update. It’s likely to roll out before the end of this month, although at this point anything is possible, including even more waiting.

Of course, you can easily get aboard the ZenFone Max Pro M1 Android 10 cruise via the beta channel. But this comes at the expense of the bug-free experience you’ve been getting on stable Android Pie.

Even better is that you can skip Android 10 and straight to the latest Android 11 on the same ZenFone Max Pro M1 handset. A working port is already doing rounds thanks to the officially available Google Pixel 4 XL Android 11 developer preview 4.

Google will release the first public beta version on June 3. The current developer preview 4 arrived earlier this month and is based on the latest May 2020 security patch.

But since Asus Android 11 update isn’t officially coming to Max Pro M1 owners, this development implies that life after Android 10 won’t be that boring.

Below are the initial release notes attached to the ZenFone Max Pro M1 Android 11 port.

1 – Initial Release.
2 – Based On Stock 424 Vendor
3 – Latest Stardust as default kernel.
4 – F2fs isn’t supported. (Later)
5 – Update Perf blobs to work with Pixel

Even though the port is working pretty fine, you can never be perfect with unofficial software. That said, below are some of the bugs you can expect after installing Android 11 on your Max Pro M1.

– Sdcard maybe showing empty.
– Hotspot( will be fixed after R vendor only kthanksbye )
– Pixel Oem Stuff like ( lift up/double-tap) uhh
– Ok Google Trigger

A few things worth noting are that this isn’t a GSI. The developer would also appreciate some feedback after deep testing. You are also advised to use Magisk Canary version only and that if CTS passes you should consider yourself lucky.

If you know anything about flashing custom ROMs, you’re welcome to grab the installation file right below. There is also more on this from this Telegram group, which is where we found this story.
