Taiwanese phone maker Asus is neither among the OEMs – like Realme, Nokia, Samsung, Oppo – that are transparent about their major OS update plans, nor the ones that deliver speedy updates. Brimming with bugs, their updates are often considered half-baked and unfinished businesses.
The plight of ZenFone Max Pro duo, i.e. M1 and M2 device users is hidden from none. From Android Pie to Android 10, their experience hasn’t been delightful. Last year, some around this time only, device users were struggling with the buggy Pie release, while this year, forget the buggy update, as they’re still gawking the stable release of Android 10.
We’ve already highlighted the Android 10 update for the devices has been delayed to the mid of this month because of the poor test results. And while the OEM struggles to deviler the stable update, atleast custom ROMs are there to give the Android Q experience to the device owners.
The plus point of the open-source nature of Android is that developers get to churn out custom ROMs and modded apps to enhance the productivity of Android devices. LineageOS, Pixel Experience, CarbonROM are some of the popular names. Android 10 LineageOS 17.1 is already available for both Max Pro M1 & M2, and now it’s time for the CarbonROM.
Codenamed PAX (the Latin word for peace), the latest CarbonROM 8.0 (CR 8.0) version recently added the official support for multiple Google, Xiaomi, and OnePlus devices. And now incoming is the unofficial support for the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 devices.

2. Updated blob to LA.UM.8.2.r1-06200-sdm660.0
3. Added GoogleCameraGo as prebuilt
4. Improved audio
5. Improved charging speed
6. Improved BB
