Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Android 10 PUBG HD graphics & poor sound quality issues officially acknowledged

Asus is set to bring the stable Android 10 update to the ZenFone Max Pro M1 beginning mid-June, at least according to a recent report by one of the company’s support guys.

There is no way to confirm how true this claim is, especially since similar statements have been put forward before by the same guys but never materialized. For now, the best ZenFone Max Pro M1 owners can get is the beta version of Android 10 in AOSP.

While this might be a welcome move for those who like living on the edge, we do not recommend switching to the ZenFone Max Pro M1 Android 10 beta firmware. Besides tagging along a new OS, the firmware also has plenty of bugs and issues that remain unaddressed months down the line.

The first Android 10 beta arrived in late January and naturally, it came with a good number of new features and bugs as well. One cool addition was the support for HD graphics for PUBG players, but this came at the expense of good sound quality.

After the subsequent Android 10 beta update to the device, users report that the PUBG HD graphics option is gone. Furthermore, the update hasn’t done anything to address the poor sound quality introduced in beta 1.

With the release of the stable version looming, concerned device owners have been asking Asus to take care of these issues ahead of the rollout. And in response, the company says it is looking to address the annoying PUBG HD graphics issue in a future firmware update.

As far as poor sound quality is concerned, Asus says the issue is under investigation and a fix should be available once the root cause is identified.

Sound volume is very low. Even if i keep ringtone volume as full, it is giving the output of 50% only. we can also observe the same during call in speaker mode

It doesn’t look like these issues will be addressed in the stable Android 10 build that comes out. Even so, we will keep an eye on the developments and let you know when the bug-fixing update arrives.
