Asus has a new ZenFone Max M2 Android 10 update rolling out to those participating in the beta testing exercise in various markets across the globe.

The ZenFone Max M2 has been testing Android 10 for about a month now. The software first arrived in April on multiple SKUs, namely WW (Global), RU (Russia), and IN (India) as software version 17.2018.2002.29.

Today, a new version is available not only for the three SKUs above, but also for the JP (Japan) SKU, the latter receiving Android 10 beta only for the first time. Here, the update also includes a new photo and video preview interface and improved photography.

The incoming ZenFone Max M2 Android 10 beta 2 update is rolling out as version 17.2018.2004.31. For those getting it as beta 2, you also get April 2020 security patch and shutter animation when capturing photos.

As noted, the update is available for the WW, RU, and IN SKUs as well. Unlike typical software updates, don’t expect an OTA download notification, instead, you must install the firmware manually.

Not long ago, Asus rolled out May 2020 security patches to the ZenFone Max M2 based on Android Pie. Could this suggest the stable Android 10 isn’t coming anytime soon? Probably, but it’s not our call to make.
