The first generation of the Android gaming smartphone from Asus under the ROG series, the Asus ROG Phone, was launched back in 2018 and it came with Android Oreo out of the box.
The device has received one major OS update in the form of the Android 9 Pie, but, the Android 10 update for the Asus ROG Phone, looks distant as there has been no news of late, regarding the update for the device.
Users are quite baffled with such behavior by the OEM for the first-gen ROG Phone, and rightly so, they took to the official Asus community forum to ask about the Android 10 update status for the phone.
Sadly, going by the response of one of the moderators, there is no information related to the Android 10 update for the Asus ROG Phone (ZS600KL), as of yet.
Sorry, we haven’t received information about the Android 10 update plan for ZS600KL.

However, the OEM has released a new update based on Android 9 Pie for the ROG Phone that brings in a lot of bug fixes for the device like a fix for the type-C earphone error, fix for video lagging, and this update also removes Twitch-integration from the device.
Besides, this new update also updates the security patch for the device and bumps the patch level to March 2020. The update arrives on the doors of the Asus ROG Phone with version number 16.0420.2003.24.
Here is what the complete and official changelog reads:
【Release Note】
1. Fixed the error when using a type-C earphone, the voice comes out from the speaker after removing the fan dongle
2. Fixed video lagging issue of miracast when using Gallery with WiGi Display to play video for long time
3. Due to user-experience issues related to Twitch – we have decided to remove Twitch-integration in Game Genie.
4. Updated Android security patch(Source)
The update is pushed, as always, via OTA in a staggered manner and will take some time in hitting all the units. Users are requested to head over to Settings>>System>>System Updates to check for the update notification.
Talking about the Android 11 update for the Asus ROG Phone, if we go by the Asus, it guarantees two major OS updates for its devices.
Meaning that the ROG Phone will not be updated with Android 11 and the awaited Android 10 update will be its last OS. You can checkout out Asus Android 11 update tracker for more info
