Taiwanese OEM Asus isn’t much appreciated by users for software updates considering they usually tend to delay and the end product isn’t that satisfactory. The OEM’s gaming lineup device, the ROG Phone II was upgraded to Android 10 a couple of months back, and the story was no different.

Right after the release, users began to point out the concerns that required addressal. So the OEM pushed an update (v17.0230.2002.32) the addressed some of the issues, but left some unresolved. The update also brought along the VoWiFi (WiFi calling) support for some carriers.

The Japanese variant is however getting a slightly different build (v17.0230.2004.59) with a different changelog. Since OTA updates are usually staggered, it may take some days for your device to get a notification. You may also want to check “System updates” in [Settings] >[System] to verify if a new firmware is available. Alternatively, you can upgrade manually.

Have you gotten the notification for this update? Did you install it? What are your observations? Let us know in the comment section below.
