Android 10 update on the Asus ROG Phone 2 arrived after a long-lasting battle of a total of 9 Android 10 betas. It was only after the 9th beta, the stable Android 10 update was released by the company.
And once you have already gone through so many numbers of beta updates for a particular device, in our case the Asus ROG Phone 2, you would expect negligible or no issues at all with the stable Android update.
But, that was not the case and the stable Android 10 update for the Asus ROG Phone 2 carried tons of bugs and issues along with it like missing tablet mode in TwinView Dock, Google Pixel, and AOSP code issue, overheating, adobe app keeps crashing, etc. among others.
Well, a new update [version 17.0230.2002.32] was finally rolled out for the ROG Phone 2 users which although, did not bring bugfixes for all the issues, but it certainly brought a fix for the problems related to AirTriggers squeeze functions while gaming.
But, the claim that the update has fixed the AirTriggers issue turned out to be false, because, as per multiple user reports, the AirTriggers squeeze functions while gaming issue is still existing on the device and the last update failed to address it.
Here are some of the user reports:
bug report: Air Triggers still trigger squeeze gestures while Playing games. While playing pubg, my device took screenshot and started google assistant when i used triggers to fire weapon in pubg. As mentioned in release not of update, issue is not fixed. I had manually disable triggers from system settings then isssue was sorted. And its not ideal.

When open gaming apps, Game Force and Sqeeze both functioning at the same time. Cause Sqeeze action to happen during gaming.

And reacting to these user reports, one of Asus’ moderators have responded that this issue will be fixed in a future OTA and for the time being, advised the user to disable the air trigger gestures.
It’s a know issue that will be fixed in future FOTA. For now, you need to disable your airtrigger squeeze gesture. Sorry about the inconvenience
Strangely, it is the same update with the same version number i.e. 17.0230.2002.32 that was rolled out for the ROG Phone 2, which enabled the VoWiFi feature for Jio on the ROG Phone 2, but hasn’t fixed the AirTrigger issue on the phone.
We hope that the Taiwanese company sticks to its statement and rolls out a bugfix update for fixing this problem soon. We will keep an eye on the lookout for further developments in this regard.
