New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on August 4, 2021) follows:
Many people manage their Arlo smart home devices via the Arlo app which is available for both iOS as well as Android devices.
However, iOS users have been facing an issue since at least February 2021 where the Arlo Smart Home app sends duplicate notifications.
Still receiving duplicate notifications. I started a prior thread and was closed about a week ago. Congrats Arlo, new low closing a thread saying it was fixed when it isn’t. So proud of myself for continuing to give you all $10 a month.

There have been numerous reports regarding this problem where users keep getting the same notification multiple times within a matter of seconds.
However, the duplicate notifications issue might have been fixed in the Arlo iOS app update version 3.2 but reports regarding the same kept on pooling even after that.
For those experiencing this issue, please make sure you have the latest version of the Arlo mobile app installed from the app store (as of today that is version 3.2). If you are still experiencing this issue after updating your mobile app to the latest version, please let us know the details so we can investigate further.

Also, another Arlo app update addressing this problem came out in July 2021 as version 3.5. However, users are still facing the issue on iOS devices.
It is unclear what the exact cause of the problem is but it is clearly a widespread issue with the Arlo app for iOS.
This is inconveniencing iOS users as they have to repeatedly dismiss the same notification again and again.
While Arlo has supposedly addressed this problem at least twice, the company has once again acknowledged that the issue lives on.
@ArloSmartHome I’ve contacted a few times now and still getting no results as to why my Arlo Pro 4 camera is giving multiple duplicate notifications every few seconds on the same motion event. Can someone final contact me? Here are a few examples and yes I have the latest update.

As per the Arlo support, the development team has been working to resolve this problem as soon as possible.
However, it is unclear how long it will take to fix the issue or whether it will be addressed in the next Arlo app update.
This is because the problem has been around for quite some time and Arlo has been unable to fix it over at least a couple of app updates.
Hopefully, the smart home vendor fixes this problem for good this time around so that iOS users do not have to contend with duplicate notifications from the Arlo app.
That said, we will report back with more details as and when we get new information so stay tuned.
Update 1 (August 12)
IST 02:21 pm: While the issue was initially thought to affect iOS users, it is now coming to light that Android users are also affected. Also, Arlo has acknowledged this issue.
Arlo development team is already aware of this issue and is continually working on a fix to be released as quickly as possible. We’ll provide more details about this once we have information to share. We appreciate your patience.
