Basically, users are able to play music when Mac is directly connected to AirPort Express via AirPlay.

However, when music is streamed directly from Apple Music to AirPort Express using AirPlay, it stops after a few seconds.

This problem has been inconveniencing Mac users since macOS 11.3 came out and it has not been resolved even with the macOS 11.4 and 11.5 updates.

A user pointed out that Apple is aware of this issue since May 2021 and their engineers have been working to resolve the same since then.

However, it is unlikely for this problem to be fixed before the update to macOS 12 comes out and there is currently no workaround for the same.

While all this info is certainly disappointing for Mac users, it is possible that the issue might have been resolved in a recent macOS update.

Another Mac user said that after updating to macOS 11.5.1, which came out a couple of days ago, they did not face this problem.

Thus it is possible that Apple might have made some improvements with regards to this issue in the macOS 11.5.1 update.

However, this is still based on speculation as the tech giant has been overly quiet on the matter.
