Google, on December 7, rolled out Apple Music support for all Assistant-enabled smart speakers and displays following which users can play anything from the streaming service through the use of simple voice commands.

And while most have responded positively to this cool new update, several Lenovo Smart Clock users are pretty disappointed as this addition has seemingly brought about no difference for them.

I’m trying to play Apple Music to my Lenovo Smart Clock, but it isn’t working. GA recognizes that it’s linked and repeats to me the right playlist, but then tells me “Sorry, something went wrong. When you’re ready, give it another try.” I’ve also tried playing it through the Google Home app and sending it to the clock. No luck. Any support for this yet?

Lenovo smart clock will not play Apple Mysic. I get the error message, oops something went wrong every time I try. I have linked and unlinked my apple account; factory reset the clock and no luck.

There has been a string of reports from several users which state that Apple Music on Lenovo Smart Clock throws a “Something went wrong” error upon trying to play any music. In other words, it’s impossible to do so.

And impossible to do so it truly is because Lenovo recently responded that Apple Music is simply unsupported on the Lenovo Smart Clock.

Hi, I have been having a conversation with Lenovo over the past couple of days and they have now confirmed that Apple music is not compatible with the smart clock.

Well, that clears the air of confusion, doesn’t it? Not exactly, as plenty of users pointed out that they were able to play Apple Music just fine a few days back and it’s only recently when the smart clock began to throw errors out of nowhere.

Why all of a sudden is it not compatible because it sure was compatible ten days ago when I purchased clock. Was working great!

Moreover, as already stated above, Google has rolled out Apple Music support to all Assistant-enabled devices, and the fact that it’s not working as expected only on Lenovo Smart Clock means there’s something else at play.

Anyway, another possibility could be that the support has just not rolled out for the Lenovo Smart Clock or is limited to certain regions for now. This does make sense considering the feature’s recent release.

If this truly is the case then it is quite likely that the feature will get enabled in the coming weeks.

However, it is very odd that Lenovo has stripped the Smart Clock from Apple Music support whilst it’s available for its cheaper counterpart – the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential.

That said, there is not much to do apart from waiting for Lenovo to roll out a fix for the issue, fingers crossed.
