Apple has recently released (March 28) a brand-new standalone music streaming app on the App Store called ‘Apple Music Classical’.

This platform lets Apple Music subscribers quickly locate any recording in the ‘biggest classical music catalog’ with a completely optimized search.

However, classical music enthusiasts around the world have already jumped on board and are sharing their opinions about the app.

Here’s what the community thinks about the Apple Music Classical

Talking about the criticism, it appears that there are a number of issues including the app’s lack of features, such as the ability to download or like tracks. Additionally, some claim that Dolby Atmos is incompatible (1,2,3,4).

It’s very strange and makes the app feel half baked.

Some users are convinced that the experience of using this platform is nothing short of using a half-baked service. According to them, the app shows fewer search choices and has disjointed or clipped audio.

Moreover, when a song is added or saved in Apple Music Classical, it automatically moves to the regular Apple Music library (1,2). This only makes users wonder why a separate app was even necessary in the first place.

But it seems that this was the intended functionality of the app, as per Apple. For reference, you can see the image attached below.

Apart from it, some people have expressed their disapproval of the concept of such an app in general and are not very welcoming of it (1,2,3).

Positive reception

On a brighter note, there are people who are liking the app and are widely sharing their opinion on social media platforms (1,2,3,4,5,6).

Dear @AppleMusic, thank you (truly!!!) for creating Classical 🎼. I can’t wait to go back in time and savor these gems. THIS IS REAL MUSIC. 🖤

It’s also quite evident that the app is making users revisit and rediscover their preferred categories and artists.

With that said, we hope Apple keeps users’ preferences intact and looks into the issues stated earlier as soon as possible.
