Respawn Entertainment came out with new limited time mode for Apex Legends – Duos on October 5 and with it came a number of game breaking bugs. The most prominent one was where the players could melee other players in the dropship and knock them.
Respawn took the note of the bug and released a hotfix for the bug on October 7. The hotfix was released as a server patch. The hotfix also contained a fix for ranked bug which was letting players to quit a ranked match before they started to avoid abandon penalty and still get the maximum RP.
The news of the Hotfix was dropped on Apex Legends twitter channel. The hotfix was released on October 7 as said before. Take a look at the tweet by Apex Legends on October 7 below –
The tweet made it clear that the hotfix was released for the PC players only, but they also assured console players that the patch will be released soon for them too.
The bugs were annoying as players would get knocked from melee and it resulted in players couldn’t land in hot zones as they would be landing with one downed teammate with no health.
Respawn is quick to release patches affecting anything on the Ranked Leagues. They were also quick to push fix and ban players who were misusing the Alt+F4 to get away with the abandon penalty in Ranked Leagues.
We may also see a ban wave for players who might have misused this bug to quickly rank up. This was done multiple times by the devs after players misused the bugs over the top.
Although there is no news about any kind of bans from the devs, but we will update you as soon as there is any news regarding the ban due to misuse of bugs.
For a limited time, duos mode is available to play in Apex Legends. You can drop in with your friend and experience the game mode for yourself.
