After OnePlus' Carl Pei, Juho Sarvikas bids adieu to HMD Nokia: Coincidentally the latter also suffers delayed Android 11 update release

Smartphone brands have gone a leap ahead by heavily focusing on providing major Android updates lately.

With contenders like Samsung and OnePlus already topping the charts with 3 major OS updates, other brands too have leveled up their games.

But taking into account brands’ performances that aren’t just bounded to the premium devices, Samsung appears to be the only undisputed king, hands down.

Samsung forestalled every other competing brand by extending its 3 major OS update policy to a wide range of devices from the budget segment as well.

OnePlus on the other hand had a reputation for packing impressive hardware and abiding software updates until they launched devices for the lower segment.

OnePlus did a turncoat by restricting itself to only a single major OS push where Samsung has done the exact opposite.

Soon after the Co-Founder, Carl Pei parted ways from a company that he nurtured himself over the years, OnePlus began to lag behind in Android 11 update releases.

For a brand that came to prominence for its promising update policy, the recent long-drawn Android 11 update program only dismays the huge fan base.

All these parameters when put together provide Samsung the gateway to go past OnePlus at the software development front.

Well, OnePlus doesn’t seem to be the only company critically struck with the Android 11 update delivery.

Nokia is here to accompany OnePlus by performing poorly when it came to Android 11 and is almost about to miss the roadmap the company framed for itself.

It’s a pity that a brand this big with a limited lot to upgrade has only been able to upgrade 2 devices.

And now, HMD’s CPO, who has been associated with the company since its inception, took to social media to announce his big decision. Juho Sarvikas has made the call to bow out.

This could possibly be the reason why Nokia is troubling to cope up with the Android 11 releases and may even continue to in his absence.

There’s no denying that Nokia has failed to live up to the hype and with Juho’s leave, the fate of the company’s software development lies in ambiguity.

It is not just the company but also the huge family of Nokia users who has to take the hit.

Nokia and OnePlus could really take some important lessons from Samsung’s way of doing things.

It becomes indispensable for Nokia to quickly get their minds back in the game and hustle to provide the much-needed boost to the halted Android 11 update delivery.
