1Password is a popular password manager which is available as a web browser extension for numerous browsers including Microsoft Edge.
A lot of people use the password manager on platforms like Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS. However, those with the 1Password extension for Microsoft Edge have been facing an issue lately.
As per several reports, users often have to disable/re-enable the password manager extension on Microsoft Edge.
Users have been reporting that the extension gets stuck on the loading screen until it is disabled/re-enabled.
However, affected users may not have to dwell with this problem for long as a fix for the same is on the way.
@1Password any reports of the newer Edge extension just sitting at “loading” when trying to unlock? Desktop app is unlocked but extension just hangs… 🙁

@1Password have you all gotten any complaints about the Edge extension needing to disable/re-enable (or restart browser) often?

According to the official 1Password Twitter handle, this is a known issue and the developers are already working on a fix.
While it is certainly good news for those affected by the said issue, it is unclear how long it will take for the said fix to arrive.
This is because 1Password has not provided any ETA for the fix in the official acknowledgement.
However, the acknowledgement does include a temporary workaround that can be used until the said issue gets fixed for good.
The official workaround involves closing the Edge browser and 1Password completely then starting them back again.
So, if you are facing the hanging problem with the password manager extension on Microsoft Edge, be sure to try the workaround given above.
Hopefully, the issue gets fixed soon so that people can use the password manager extension on Microsoft Edge without any hassle.
That said, we will report back with more details as and when we get new information to share so stay tuned.
