Developed by Capcom and available to play on Windows, PlayStation and Xbox, Resident Evil 4 is a recently released game in the survival horror genre. Just within 2 days, over three million copies of the game were sold.
However, some are disappointed as they are unable to enjoy the gameplay as it was intended.
Resident Evil 4 dead zone issue with Xbox controllers
Some Resident Evil 4 players (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) are facing difficulties when playing the game with controllers due to large dead zones which are enabled by default.
Dead zones are the distance an analog stick must be moved before the input can be registered. When there is a high dead zone, small movements of the analog stick are not registered.
Smaller dead zones are typically favored for aiming because they allow for smaller movements, which improves accuracy significantly.
One of those affected says that they are unable to aim and shoot properly at their enemies due to the poorly implemented in-game controls.
Another player alleges that they need to move the controller’s stick almost halfway before the game can register any input.
@RE_Games are we gonna get a control fix on the Xbox version. Even at 60 fps the game feels heavy because of dead zone.

Those affected are now requesting the developers to fix this problem as soon as possible.
Potential workaround
Fortunately, we did come across a workaround that may help solve your problem. To begin with, you can try maximizing the aim acceleration and lowering the sensitivity settings.
Those using an Xbox Elite wireless controller can set the response time to instant and turn up the axis-independent setting.
