Instagram’s Collections feature makes it easy for one to save posts or reels created by other users. Each saved image or video gets bookmarked and added to a collection in the app.

Also, these saved posts are always accessible. However, some users are unable to utilize this feature.

Instagram Save to collection feature removed or missing from Reels

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Instagram users are facing an issue where they are unable to save reels from different user profiles to their collections.

The issue has popped up recently and affects users across multiple platforms. Due to this, users are frustrated and have taken to web forums to express their concerns.

One of those affected says that after the recent app update, they can neither save reels directly to any of their collections nor reveal the vertical collections list.

Another alleges that the ‘Save to collection’ feature is missing on the desktop version. They also add that the company has officially disabled this feature for web users.

Those affected are now requesting Instagram to resolve this glitch as soon as possible.

Potential workaround

Fortunately, we did come across a workaround that may help solve your problem temporarily.

A Redditor recommends visiting the profile with the reels and access them from their grid feed in order to save them to your collections.

However, if it’s quite an old post, then, unfortunately, you will have to scroll through to find the post which is, of course, a time-consuming process.

Having said that, we hope that Instagram will resolve the issue soon and users can save reels to their collections like they earlier could.
