Back in 2018, Instagram introduced music to the stories feature allowing one to add a soundtrack to their story that fits any given moment.
Thanks to this, one can easily express their feelings and get closer to their friends, family, and audience.
However, some are unhappy as they are unable to find some tracks they like and use them in their stories or reels.
Instagram users are unable to find popular songs in the music sticker library
According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple users are expriencing difficulties in finding the tracks they like in the music sticker library.
Some claim to have even used some of the unavailable songs in their content before, but are now unable to find the tracks on the platform.
It appears that songs available in Instagram’s music sticker library have reduced significantly within the past few days. The affected ones have taken up to the web forums to express their views.
A platform user complains that since the past few days, they are unable to find any of the songs they like, including some tracks that are popular worldwide.
Another user alleges that even though sign used to indicate music tracks are present on their old posts, yet neither the title is displayed and nor the songs play.
So when I upload a post and add a song and go to my other account I can’t hear it, So a friend when on my account and it’s the same thing it doesn’t even say I added a song?

Users have tried logging out and signing back in, clearing the app cache, and uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but to no avail.
Possible Explanation
Some speculate (1,2) that it’s quite a possibility that some tracks might not be available on Instagram due to some licensing issues.
It can be the case that the company’s contract period with some musicians or bands might have ended.
We do hope that Instagram resolves this issue soon so that creators can enjoy using their favorite tracks in their stories and reels.
