New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on December 27, 2022) follows:

Google’s flagship phones are deemed to be its best-of-everything and come with an immersive display and great screen size.

However, we keep coming across some bugs and issues with Google Pixel phones. For instance, we recently covered an issue where Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro users encountered issues with scrolling.

It appears that some Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro users have reported experiencing issues with the input on their devices.

Google Pixel 7 ‘touch not registering’ or ‘inaccurate’ issue

According to reports, these issues range from the touch input not registering at all, to it being inaccurate or completely unresponsive.

Touch screen unresponsive, even while trying to type. Multiple hard presses or completely restarting phone resolves issues for a few hours. No screen protector and I have turned screen protector mode on.

My Pixel 7 does this as well. It can take multiple presses to get an app tp open or to type a letter in Chat. It’s random, annoying, and hard on the fingers. Does it with a stylus, too.

Some are not only finding it hard to use the touch utility with their hand but also their stylus.

Affected users are really frustrated with the issue and have taken to social media to express their concerns.

Some suggested that quickly toggling the screen on and off can provide a temporary fix for the issue, but it does not appear to be a long-term solution to the trouble.

Seems forcing the refresh rate to maximum on developer options helps the severity. It still happens but not as often. Now I can toggle screen off then back on and it remedies the problem for a little while.

Though, things don’t end here. What makes the situation worse is that some are getting even more annoyed while performing other functions. They reported that the touch input becomes unresponsive while typing or playing.

Same problem. Getting very annoying especially when texting. Words all messed up b/c screen doesn’t detect some letters randomly

Further adding to their plight, there are reports of them facing issues where the touch input is particularly problematic when attempting to tap on the edges or corners of the screen.

Has anyone else been experiencing touch sensitivity issues on the pixel 7 pro? Especially the corners. I’ve already increased the sensitivity in the settings but it does not help. I do use a panzerglass screenprotector, anyone experience with that?

It is not clear yet what is causing issues with touch not registering on the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. Google has not yet released an official statement on the matter.

However, the issue has been noted and escalated for further investigation.

In the meantime, Pixel users can seek help from Google Pixel support or their device manufacturer and wait for the developers to actively fix the issue.

We hope that the developers take note of the trouble and provide a solution to those affected as soon as possible.

We will keep our eye on the problem and update the story with further developments.
