Developed by Behaviour Interactive, Dead by Daylight is a popular game in the multiplayer survival horror genre.

It recently received the version 6.6 ‘Tools of Torment’ update that introduced bug fixes to some known issues and made some gameplay balance changes as well.

For instance, it fixed the problems where voiceover subtitles would linger longer than the audio, and players would get stuck in an infinite loop when matchmaking fails.

The patch also adds a new killer ‘The Skull Merchant’ and two new survivors ‘Thalita Lyra’ and ‘Renato Lyra’ to the game.

However, it looks like the recent update has introduced some issues as well.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple players complain that they get an ‘Initialization error’ on the game’s startup. The issue has popped up after the recent update and affects players on the Xbox consoles only.

A gamer complains that whenever they try running the game, they get a ‘The game has initialized incorrectly and may not save your game properly’ error message.

Another player alleges to be facing a similar issue and are unable to play the game. They further say that restarting the game and their Xbox console could not help solve the issue.

Due to this bug, the players are unable to enjoy the gameplay as intended.

The affected ones have even tried restarting the game as well as their consoles, uninstalling, and reinstalling the game, but to no avail.

Gamers have even questioned the point of releasing such a faulty update and are now requesting the developers to fix the glitch.

We do hope that Behaviour Interactive resolves this problem soon.
