Original story (published on March 24, 2022) follows:

Google Home and Google Nest are Google’s series of Smart Speakers. Since their launch they have become one of the company’s most popular products.

Being Google products, the Home and Nest Mini offers full Google Assistant support. This allows you to execute voice commands, ask questions, control other Smart Devices around the house and more.

However, Google Home and Nest Mini have been facing an issue for several weeks where the device does not complete responses to commands since they cut out or stop mid-sentence.

Apparently, the Google Home or Nest Mini cuts off responses to commands or requests at mid-sentence.

One of my Google minis stops on the middle of a sentence.

I have several Google minis. One of them has stopped in the middle of a sentence while answering a question. It has a good connection to my Google router. What can I do to fix it?

Google nest keeps cutting out when saying sentiences

Hi, I recently got a Google nest mini but it keeps cutting out. If I’m going to bed and run through my night routine, it just stops. I’ve hard reseted it, restarted it, and unplug it for 24 hr. Any suggestions?

A couple of workarounds that could help

There are a couple of potential workarounds that could help you mitigate the issue. The first is to use the ‘Hey Google-repeat that’ command if the response is cut off mid-sentence.

Perhaps. The ruling dealt mainly with setting volume on multiple devices, and initial setup. It’s very possible they unintentionally broke something in the code that is somehow related to completing phrases.

In the meantime, try ” Hey Google- repeat that” as one work around. I also suggest to keep saying “Hey Google, Give feedback” ad nauseum throughout day and state the problem.

The second workaround is to disable ipv6 connections on your router.

I was having this problem yesterday with my Google home mini too. Kept stopping or cutting out mid sentence. If the sentence was long enough it would eventually start itself back up lol.

I disabled ipv6 connections in my router and that seems to have fixed the issue for now

There is no official acknowledgment on the issue from Google yet. We will update this story as events unfold.
