Some Samsung Keyboard users reporting poor autocorrect and suggestions after recent update; alternates inside

Samsung has developed its own keyboard design with a lot of convenient features. It provides a plethora of customization options for users to tweak the appearance of their personalized keyboard.

For instance, one can customize the background, layout, size, and much more. Samsung’s keyboard application comes preinstalled on its mobile devices and also gets occasional updates.

However, it looks like one of the recently launched updates has bricked the app’s auto-correct functionality.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9), some users are facing difficulties using the Samsung keyboard app. It is alleged that the app is causing typos and is unable to correct even basic or simple spelling mistakes.

The issue is said to have occurred after the recent v5.6.10.19 update.

A Samsung Galaxy S21 owner says that after the update, the app doesn’t auto-capitalize and replaces the correct words with the ones that are incorrect. It no longer even corrects words that are misspelled by one letter.

Also, after making any sort of correction to the text, sometimes the cursor’s position moves to the previous word.

For some, the swipe intelligence feature is not working properly as well.

A user claims that the keyboard app’s autocorrect has gotten progressively more heinous over time. Some are even thinking of switching to a smartphone from another brand.

I find the features of the Samsung keyboard good but the auto correct is not good at all.

I got sick of using the default Samsung keyboard because the autocorrect was trash so I downloaded the Google keyboard and it’s so much better.

Customers are requesting that the developers fix the problems with the keyboard.

Fortunately, we did come across a potential workaround that may help solve your problem. You can try switching to the likes of Gboard, Microsoft SwiftKey, or Grammarly Keyboard for the time being.

We do hope Samsung fixes the issues with its keyboard app soon.
