The Real Friends of WeHo is a newly released MTV reality show showcasing six costars living in West Hollywood, California. It premiered on January 20, 2023.
However, soon after the show was aired, viewers started criticizing it for the unreal representation of the gay community. It has an average audience score of just 4% which isn’t even enough to calculate the critics’ score.
To make room for this show, MTV has to cut the time of the popular show ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ by half an hour to 60 minutes. And fans were not quite happy with MTV’s this decision.
Following the backlash from the fans, RuPaul’s Drag Race will now return back to 90 minutes. Beginning Friday, March 10, the show will air from 8 to 9:30 pm.
Will MTV ‘The Real Friends of WeHo’ be canceled?
This has led to some viewers asking if the new show The Real Friends of WeHo will be canceled. Well, technically not.
But this means Real Friends of Weho or whatever it’s called didn’t get cancelled? I want 90 minutes episodes of drag race back now! Cancel that other show please @mtv. The rating can’t be good. (Source)
Please @MTV could you cancel that stupid show of WeHo so we can have the full runway of #rupaulsdragrace ? This editing is ridiculous (Source)
So far, only three episodes of the show have been released, and more will come in the first season. The last episode of The Real Friends of WeHo will be aired on March 3 and that’s when the first season will end.
Hence, MTV planned to bring back the 90-minute episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race starting March 10. So, it turns out that the show in question won’t be canceled, but it will be finished after six episodes.
This also means that it may return for the second season. However, there’s currently no information on the next season of The Real Friends of WeHo.
