OnePlus 9 OxygenOS 13 (Android 13) update bug causing abnormal battery drain for some users

With a uniform design throughout, OxygenOS 13 offers a wealth of functions that seamlessly integrate with the whole software environment.

And if you have recently updated your OnePlus device to the Android 13-based OxygenOS 13 operating software, you’re in for a number of features like AOD, Smart Sidebar, and more.

However, like any other update, it is also not immune to various bugs and issues.

OnePlus 9 battery drain issue after OxygenOS 13

After installing the Android 13-based operating system, OxygenOS 13, some OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, 9RT, and 9R users (1,2,3,4,5) claim to be experiencing problems with the device’s battery life.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Can’t even make it through half the day now without feeling the need to charge it. Currently at 40% battery with a 1h20 on screen time. That number used to be around twice as high before this update

Im facing that the battery performance is worse than ever with the last update of OOS 13. I have a OP9 Pro EU rom, I mean F17 and F72, but I wanna know if others devices are facing bad battery performance

Reports suggest that the battery of their devices is draining at a remarkable rate. It even fails to make it through an entire day sometimes.

For some, the issue of sudden and rapid battery drainage is also accompanied by abnormal heating. Interestingly, we previously highlighted a similar overheating issue for some OnePlus 9 users.

This is incredibly frustrating for users as they are now required to charge their phones every now and then.

No official word in sight

Unfortunately, OnePlus hasn’t acknowledged the OnePlus 9 battery drain issue after OxygenOS 13 update.

We hope that the developers come up with a fix soon so that it can keep OnePlus 9 series users from the risk of damaging their smartphones.
