One UI 5.0 is the latest version of Samsung’s custom Android skin. It uses Android 13 as a base and has already reached multiple smartphones, both high-end and mid-range.

However, it seems that the update also brought an annoying bug to the devices. In the past, we already covered reports of the Fitbit Charge 5 not syncing with Samsung foldable smartphones running Android 13.

Now, multiple users have been facing an ‘auto-rotate bug’ since the arrival of the update. Fortunately, there are good news about it.

Samsung Galaxy S22, S21 & S20 auto-rotate bug after One UI 5.0 (Android 13) update

In the past few weeks, several Samsung Galaxy devices users have been complaining about the issue that significantly affects the user experience.

The bug basically causes that, if you have the auto-rotate option activated, the apps that support orientation options adopt a position opposite to that of the phone.

For instance, apps are displayed in landscape if you hold the phone in portrait mode.

The Android 13 based One UI 5.0 update with the December patch started its rollout a few hours ago. At the moment, only a few users have received it.

It is possible that the update takes some days (or maybe weeks in the worst case) to reach your smartphone. Anyway, you can check its availability through the Update Settings on your phone.

We will update this story once relevant new developments emerge.
