Chromecast with Google TV offers many streaming apps and a comfortable remote control experience. It also supports casting, a webcam for video conferencing, and more.

Moreover, it includes 4K HDR content with Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HDR10 Plus as well. But when it comes to its compatibility with certain devices or accessories, it becomes quite an issue.

First time here. I am having difficulty pairing my bluetooth ‘Apple Magic Keyboard’ to my ‘Chromecast Google TV’. The Chromecast sees the keyboard and asks me to enter a passcode on the keyboard, but it fails to connect and this will not pair. I reset the keyboard and ensured that it was in pairing mode and tried several times, but without success.

Reports suggest that affected users can pair their respective keyboards with other Bluetooth devices perfectly. But they can’t seem to get the two devices to connect to Chromecast with Google TV via Bluetooth.

Whenever users start pairing, the Chromecast asks them to enter a passcode on the keyboard. However, after entering the PIN and pressing the ‘ENTER’ button, it fails to connect with both Magic Keyboard and Logitech K380.

Official word

It turns out that both Apple Magic Keyboard and Logitech K380 do not support a Bluetooth connection to Chromecast with Google TV, as confirmed by a Google community specialist.
