Reddit Recap 2022 doesn't show NSFW subreddits and some users aren't happy

The end of the year 2022 is getting closer and multiple services are already sending their annual ‘Recap’ to all users. Recaps are basically a graphical summary of user activity over the year.

Reddit is one of the social platforms that offer an annual Recap. Music streaming services like Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music also do the same.

The Reddit Recap 2022 is already reaching a lot of users, but it seems that it is not as complete as expected since it excludes all NSFW content, which is generating a division of opinions.

Social platforms like Twitter and Reddit itself are the center of discussion on the matter. Apparently, there is no unanimity in the opinions about the exclusion of NSFW subreddits from the Recap 2022.

On the one hand, for one reason or another, some users would have preferred to receive their full activity stats on Reddit, including the NSFW subreddits they interacted with.

I love my reddit recap because it only shows content I barely access. I spend all my time on nsfw subreddits…pls reddit is there a show nsfw stats option?? Actually, maybe I don’t want to know that information…

Reddit just sent me this recap thing for 2022 that completely ignores the data they have for the 5000+ hours I spent on there looking at porn for brain worms and pose ideas. 24 hours on r/MasterDuel is the best I did otherwise.

This might have been logical, since normally Reddit users use alternate accounts to visit NSFW subreddits anonymously. However, there are also happy users with the current Reddit Recap 2022.

Those who agree with the exclusion of NSFW subreddits from the Reddit Recap 2022 definitely appreciate receiving a summary that they can share on their social networks without worry.

Also, many might find it cumbersome to use multiple Reddit accounts and switch between them depending on the type of content they view. This group also supports excluding NSFW from Reddit Recap 2022.

Perhaps, Reddit should allow users to enable and disable ‘NSFW content activity tracking’ on their accounts. In this way, they could decide what their Recap will look like at the end of each year.
