Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the latest game in the franchise in the ‘Vermintide’ sub-saga. The games in this lineup are quite different compared to the classic installments.
Traditional Warhammer games are usually of the strategy genre. Meanwhile, the installments on the ‘Vermintide’ sub-saga are FPS action games with a focus on co-op mode.
However, the release of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has been a bit problematic as multiple players are constantly getting the 4001, 2003 and 2007 error codes.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide 4001, 2003 and 2007 error codes
According to multiple reports, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is currently unplayable due to 4001 (1, 2, 3), 2003 (1, 2, 3) and 2007 (1, 2) error codes. All of them cause the same effect: disconnecting the player from the game.
At some point, the player will randomly get any of those errors and will be kicked back to the game’s main menu with no apparent explanation.
Can’t connect : 4001. Tried to play the game and after doing the tutorials and right before seeing the inquisitor, game doesn’t load and sends me back to menu. In several cases the problem appears constantly every few minutes, which is frustrating. Says failed to join error 4001. Any help would be appreciated.

Disconnected from the server error code 2003. Game was released so I supposed it should run fine but I can’t complete any mission since I get kicked out every 2 minutes into the game. Rebooted the game, PC, used different routers with different internet providers and still cannot play.

Developers already aware, potential workaround
There is an occasional workaround that is helping some players, though it’s not infallible. It involves using a VPN when playing Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
Fortunately, the Darktide developers are already aware of the issue. There are acknowledgments for the 4001, 2003 and 2007 error codes, but no ETA for a fix.
We will update this story as events unfold in the future.
