Getting agitated by the changes Twitter is going through after it was acquired by Elon Musk, many users have already begun to look for alternatives. And that’s where Hive Social turned up.

Similar to Twitter, Hive Social is a social media platform that lets you post images and text. And ever since Elon Musk’s Twitter acquisition, it has gained a plethora of users in no time.

However, those who made the switch have also reported a number of problems with the app such as the search bar not working, grayed out ‘link to Spotify in Profile Music’ option, and login and email confirmation issue.

And as if the existing issues on Hive Social weren’t enough, users have pointed out another bug which isn’t letting them use dark mode.

Hive Social dark mode resetting on Android

As per the reports doing rounds on Twitter, several Hive Social users are complaining that dark mode keeps resetting and switches back to light mode whenever they re-open the app after closing it.

Here are some reports for reference:

@TheHIVE_Social Just wanted to let you that on Android, if I choose the dark mode, as soon as I close the app the light mode is back (Also, is there any chance that in future you’ll add a way to see, directly from the app, who unfollows us?) #hive #hivesocial (Source)

I just signed up. It seems alright. I am only following one person now but it takes me a minute to get used to a new app. My only issue is that it resets and turns off dark mode whenever I reopen the app. (Source)

This issue seems to be affecting Android users as we haven’t come across any reports from those on iOS.

Unfortunately, Hive Social support hasn’t yet acknowledged this issue. And we hope that devs come up with a definitive solution soon since users have to set dark mode every time they open the app.

Regrettably, we haven’t come across any potential workaround that might help you fix this issue. So, you’ll have to wait until the devs fix it.

Rest assured, we will update this story as and when we come across anything noteworthy.
