[Updated] Apple Music should come up with something like Spotify Wrapped, demand users

We’re drawing near the end of the year, and it also means that Spotify Wrapped 2022 is approaching. It’s Spotify’s innovative way of presenting users’ musical journey of the year.

But when it comes to Apple, users only get the analysis of the top songs and artists of the year but without any fascinating graphics with the help of Apple Music Replay.

‘Replay’ rather creates a playlist that’s more algorithmically inclined and in no way as detailed or exciting as Spotify Wrapped, according to some.

As if the unavailability of Spotify Instafest on Apple wasn’t enough, users are further disappointed with the bland representation of their music listening history by Replay.

This is precisely why several Apple users (1,2,3,4,5) have taken to Twitter to express their desire to have something like Wrapped.

Apple Music Replay merely calculates the top songs, albums, and artists using listening history and the number of plays and time spent listening to them. Wrapped, on the other hand, gives an insightful visual representation.

Some users are even criticizing Apple or asking the team to kick it up a notch and come up with something like Instafest.

A bunch of users also feel that Apple Music Replay is simply a less-refined version of Spotify’s Wrapped and therefore it needs to do better.

For now, Apple hasn’t commented on the issue yet so users will have to wait and hang on to Replay for a while.

But it’ll be interesting to see whether or not the tech giant ever considers coming up with something like Wrapped.

04:33 pm (IST): According to a report, Apple has revamped the Apple Music Replay feature by introducing an animated highlight reel of users’ favorite songs and artists.

The idea was perhaps to bring the Replay experience closer to the visually impressive and interactive nature of Spotify Wrapped.
