Warzone 2.0 has been launched along with the COD: Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 update. It also introduces the new Battle Pass where player’s decision paves the way for complete domination over the Area of Operations.
The newest patch is also loaded with various weapons, bundles, progressions, and several bug fixes.
Modern Warfare 2 new UI faces backlash
However, it seems that the new COD: Modern Warfare 2 UI has come under the severe wrath of a lot of players (1,2,3,4,5), especially for its changed Battle Pass.
The UI needs deleting and starting again from a blank sheet of paper. It isn’t “nearly ready” or “in need of some tweaks”, it’s an absolute car crash. That’s on the devs.

Still broken. UI is trash and I can’t join my friends. This is ridiculous as you are a multi-billion-dollar company. You are a failure of a company and I hope you and the dev team hit all the lights red on the way home. All have weak bloodlines.

According to reports, many players feel that the new UI has broken a lot of functionalities including the inability to join the game with friends, the complicated Main Menu design, and more.
Some players are also frustrated with not being able to create a party, glitchy voice chat, and with the overly-cluttered Battle Pass.
While the aesthetic side of the game may be pleasing but it is basically confusing for many thus rendering the game unplayable.
White pings or marks on maps
Apart from the poor UI design, many players (1,2,3,4) are also disappointed with the Warzone 2 ‘white pings or marks’ on maps.
This ping system has to be the WORST system of all time. Also why can’t I see who my teammates are when I am spectating my team? Overall very fun so far though!

Pings/marking system is absolutely terrible. Looting is awful. Buy Station is too complicated

Apparently, pings are the marks that indicate some important aspects on the maps including stations, weapon tiers, and more during matches. But the developers recently decided to homogenize them using the color white which is seemingly causing issues related to their visibility.
As a result, Modern Warzone 2 players now want the traditional colored pings back as they allowed them to quickly see the location or key point.
Moreover, the presence of white pings is also very concerning for colorblind people and makes it difficult for them to figure out the content on the map.
No official word in sight
Unfortunately, Infinity Ward hasn’t acknowledged the issue where the COD: Modern Warfare 2 new UI is facing backlash. The team also hasn’t commented on the issue concerning the pings.
We’ll keep an eye on these issues and update this story to reflect important developments.
