Spotify is one of the largest music streaming services on the planet. Founded in 2006, Spotify has more than 365 million active monthly users.
The audio streaming service has more than 70 million songs in its catalog. Spotify has adopted the popular freemium model and generates revenue mainly through advertisements and subscriptions.
Available in more than 178 countries, Spotify can be used on every major platform including Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.
Having said that, users do encounter some bugs every once in a while. The latest issue Spotify users are reporting involves the refresh button not working for the Recommended songs section.
Users say the issue popped up after the recent update. Initially, users thought that it was an issue with their playlists but later realized that the Recommended songs section is not refreshing no matter what they do.
The Spotify Recommended songs refresh button not working issue affects users on Windows and Mac. However, Android and iOS users report that the feature is working fine.
I recently noticed that in the past week or so suddenly pressing refresh doesn’t do anything. I have to press several times to get any new results to pop up, and even then, it’s usually just the same recommendations in a shuffled order. Tried hard uninstalling and reinstalling, tried refreshing from a tab from open.spotify, same problem.

This problem started yesterday at night when I was on my laptop. Suddenly the “refresh” button for the recommended songs below all playlists stopped working. I uninstalled Spotify and reinstalled it twice, still no fix. The same problem happens when I open it on Chrome. No idea what could be causing this issue. Anyone know a fix?

Allegedly, Spotify had fixed the very same issue in Spotify for Windows 1.1.67.586.gbb5ef64e, but it looks like the issue still persists.
Spotify developers say that they are aware of the refresh button not working for Recommended songs bug and that it is currently under investigation.
With some reports dating back to April 2021, it looks like the issue has been haunting some users for months now.
The issue was acknowledged more than two weeks ago, but the company still hasn’t updated users if they are working on a fix or not.
We will update this article when Spotify gives us more information so make sure you keep an eye out for the same.
