Anno 1800 is one of the most famous real-time strategy games. Developed by Blue Byte and published by Ubisoft, the game was released in April of 2019.
It is also one of the longest-running RTS games and is set in the 19th century Industrial Revolution that features city building mechanics combined with ocean combat.
According to Ubisoft, the game has adopted features from the past titles and delivers a rich city-building experience that includes a story-driven campaign.
Having said that, Ubisoft recently made Anno 1800 free to play from September 1 to September 6. Naturally, a lot of players downloaded the game to see what it has to offer.
But, players are now reporting an issue with the game. According to reports, Anno 1800 users are getting ‘This product cannot be activated right now, please try again’ error.
Anno 1800 players have tried verifying the files and reinstalling the game but nothing seems to work right now.

Ubisoft acknowledged the issue on Twitter and said that they are working on a fix. However, the developers did not share any ETA on when it will be fixed.
If anything, it looks like Ubisoft servers are facing some issues that are preventing players from activating the game.
Right now, the only thing players can do is wait for Ubisoft to fix the Anno 1800 ‘Product cannot be activated’ error.
When they release an update or fix their servers, we will update this article so make sure you keep checking this space for more information.
