Samsung’s lineup of smart TVs has a pretty decent user base. Among them, the Neo QLED series which offers some of the best smart TVs from the OEM.

Many people use the Samsung Neo QLED QN95A, QN90A, QN800A, and QN900A smart TVs across the globe but these devices have their own flaws.

Users of the aforementioned smart TVs from the Neo QLED lineup have been facing some problems for quite some time.

As per a rather long and old thread on the German Samsung Community, the Samsung Neo QLED QN95A, QN90A, QN800A, and QN900A smart TVs have issues with picture and sound dropouts.

User reports clearly outline that these picture and sound dropout issues occur with the HDMI feed on the Samsung Neo QLED TVs.

These problems have been inconveniencing users since at least April 2021 but the OEM has not been able to isolate them.

Also, generic and advanced troubleshooting steps like using alternate HDMI cables and factory and EDID resets are not helping. Even motherboard replacement does not appear to be solving the issues for users.

Thus, it is unclear what the exact cause of the problems is but users have pointed out that the issues occur when any player or device is used with HDMI.

A Samsung Community Moderator did point out back in May 2021 that the picture and sound dropout issues on Samsung Neo QLED TVs are being looked into.

However, user reports are still piling up in the community thread which further suggests that the problems are still at large.

An affected user recently said that they were told by Samsung support that a new HDMI update is expected to come soon with a software update scheduled for the fourth quarter.

However, nothing is certain until Samsung makes a proper announcement regarding these issues on a wider scale.

Hopefully, the OEM fixes the aforementioned picture and sound dropout issues with Samsung Neo QLED smart TVs soon.

That said, we will report back with more details as and when new information becomes available so stay tuned.
