Developed by Treyarch in partnership with Raven Software, COD: Black Ops Cold War is a first-person shooting game that was released in November 2020.
Even though the game features a story mode, COD: Black Ops Cold War is famous for its multiplayer gameplay.
Similar to the 2019 title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the game includes a battle pass with new maps and weapons added every season.
Apart from its multiplayer gameplay, COD: Black Ops Cold War is famous for the number of bugs and issues that pop up every now and then.
There are so many bugs that we have a dedicated COD bug tracker. Adding to the humongous list of COD: Black Ops Cold War issues is the e-tool challenge not tracking bug.
Several players are reporting that they are unable to complete the e-tool multiplayer challenge because the kill count isn’t being tracked.
I noticed earlier I had 10 of the 15 three melee kills in one life to unlock the e Tool so decided to get the remainder. I’ve had a few matches where i’ve got three kills in one life a few times (using only the machete) yet the counter has been stuck at 10, does anyone know what’s causing this and if there’s a way around it?

Anybody else E tool challenge not working I have all the other melee unlocked except it and I haven’t left any games I’ve been useing only melee haven’t touched a gun till I realized I need to unlock a special weapon for diamond camo anybody no why this isn’t working for me I even tested and got 3 kills without dying and stayed in game and the progress didn’t even go up I’m thinking it’s a bug or I’m just not good

Users have tried using different weapons but to no avail. It seems the counter is bugged and gets stuck at a random number.
This is happening despite the fact that developers released the Season 5 Patch that supposedly fixed some issues concerning challenge progress getting stuck.
It looks like the COD: Black Ops Cold War developers forgot to fix the E-tool not tracking bug.
Fortunately, they have acknowledged the issue and said they are working on a fix.
Scrolling through the COD: Black Ops Cold War Trello board, we can see that the issue will be fixed in an upcoming update.
But there is no ETA, which means that players might have to wait a few more weeks before the issue is fixed.
We hope Raven and Treyarch work on a solution and release a fix in the next update if possible. We will update this space when the issue is fixed, so make sure you keep an eye out.
