The Twitter for Android app seems to be broken on so many levels right now. Recently, users reported that they were unable to log in using the official Twitter app.

Now, reports are coming in that the app might have more bugs in addition to the existing ones.

According to Twitter users, they are unable to use several basic functions like reply to a tweet, quote tweets, retweet, and like tweets.

Will not let me tweet or reply to tweets in the app. Only on the mobile site. This just started happening about a week ago. I restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app… Cleared cache… Why isn’t it working?!

Can’t tweet on the Android app anymore, the ‘tweet’ (& when quote tweeting, ‘retweet’) button doesn’t work. Have re-installed the app, nothing. Other people here seem to have the same problem. As of now, the app is unusable.

These issues seem to be affecting users of the Twitter app on Android right from the start of the month but hugely went unnoticed since not everyone is affected by the same.

The problems came to light when Twitter itself acknowledged the various issues preventing users from performing the aforementioned actions.

It looks like the same update that broke the sign-in functionality is responsible for these bugs.

While it is common for the Twitter app to have bugs, the recent issue has resulted in a huge backlash from Android app users.

Right now, the only way for affected users to use the platform is by using the mobile web version or by accessing Twitter via desktop.

We hope Twitter pushes an emergency update for the Android app that fixes the issues users have been facing for quite a while now.
