New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…
Original story (published on July 06, 2021) follows:
Verizon is among the largest wireless carriers in the US with over 120 million subscribers. It also offers carrier-locked devices including Motorola One 5G UW and Motorola Edge+.
Now, Verizon has started rolling out software updates to both devices along with the June 2021 security patch.
However, that is not all what the latest software updates bring to the Verizon Motorola One 5G UW and Edge+ units.
Alongside the June 2021 security patch, the said devices are getting support for what is being called Verizon Adaptive Sound.
It is mentioned in the changelogs that Verizon Adaptive Sound provides premium sound experiences.
That does not shed much light on what the said feature actually does as the changelogs does not include any specific details.
However, it is possible that the said Adaptive Sound feature might similar to the one present in the Pixel devices.
Google Pixel’s Adaptive Sound feature improves the speaker sound quality by adjusting the equalizer settings based on the environment.
While this feature is only available on the Pixel 4a and 5, there are ways to enable it on older Pixel devices. Also, Pixelized custom ROMs like Evolution X also offer the Adaptive Sound feature to many Android devices.
However, this is still based on our speculation as the changelogs for the Motorola One 5G UW and Edge+ clearly outline the feature as Verizon Adaptive Sound.
So, it is unclear what exactly this feature does until the wireless network operator sheds some more light on the matter.
In the meantime, if you have received the said update on your Verizon Motorola One 5G UW or Edge+ units, feel free to let us know about this feature by dropping a comment below.
That said, we will report back with more details as and when we get new information to share so stay tuned.
