MIUI 12.5 brought some noteworthy changes to Xiaomi’s skin with improved performance, the ability to uninstall system apps, and dynamic wallpapers in addition to Super Wallpapers introduced with MIUI 12.
Super Wallpapers are basically 3D live wallpapers inspired by space. Currently, there are two sets of Super Wallpapers: Super Earth and Super Mars.
For many months, users were waiting for their devices to be updated to the latest version of MIUI and experience Super Wallpapers.
But upon receiving the MIUI 12.5 update sans the Super Wallpapers, many are left utterly disappointed.
On further investigation, we found out several people have the issue and have asked about the same on the Mi Community Forum.

A Mi forum moderator responded to a user’s query regarding the problem confirming that the Super Wallpapers are still limited to high-end models with AMOLED screen even on MIUI 12.5.

Many Xiaomi smartphones users were excited about MIUI 12.5 since it significantly reduces the CPU and Memory load. Therefore, users thought that they would finally be able to experience the Super Wallpapers feature even on mid-range and entry-level hardware.
But Xiaomi squashed their expectations when they found it was not available on their device.
That said, not all hope is lost as there is a way to install Super Wallpapers on devices that have bagged the MIUI 12.5 update that does not support it. If you are interested, you can read about it here.
We should remind you that this is not the first time Xiaomi has made certain features unavailable on their budget devices. The company previously disabled Gaussian blur in the Control Center. They also removed the Control Center on the Redmi Note 9 due to some performance issues.
Nevertheless, MIUI 12.5 does have some other interesting features up its sleeves and you can head to our dedicated tracker to know more about the status and availability of the update.
